A few days ago I achieved a minor landmark in my sailing career. I passed over the 100th nautical mile I’ve ever sailed. Since I began sailing about a year ago, I’ve kept a log of many statistics related to my sailing experience.
It was a great day for sailing, too. Perfect winds on the lake (9-13 mph) and I had to share the lake with only one other sailboat that day.
A friend took a couple pictures of me as I was exiting the harbor and I took a short video while I was out.
Enjoy.
No minor accomplishment. I remember the day well. We now have over 2000 miles but those first ones are always memorable. Keep at it!

Hi Michael. You haven’t posted in a while so I thought I’d touch base and see how it’s going. We had some great sailing weather here over Thanksgiving. Our big list of To Do items got shorter for a day or two. Then we managed to add a couple of tasks. I think there is some power that monitors the boat to do list that makes sure that for every item that comes off, at least one more goes on…
Haha, Stan, you’re exactly right about the list! My to-do list never really seems to get any shorter. I’ll mark two items off as done, then add three more on. ๐
I’ve done a few things lately, but just haven’t updated the blog yet. I’ll get to that soon though. Been working too much lately it seems.
