So a couple of my dock lines broke in the super high winds [~70 mph!] this week. I got a text today from my good friend at the marina with the attached picture. Glad he keeps an eye on it for me since I can’t get out there right now.
Apparently there’s only damage to dock, not the boat, since the forestay chainplate took the brunt of the damage.
He’s going to replace the lines for me, but now I need to put another thing on my to-do list: check the chainplate to ensure no structural damage to it.
Ouch! You ducked a bad one there. A couple of years ago we had some boats at Canyon Lake end up looking like they had an open shark’s mouth on the front. They had a big gaping maw where they beat themselves into the dock. Glad yours is okay there.
Oh wow, yeah I definitely got lucky since I had no damage.
Have you been out lately? How’s the weather down there?
